We're right at the start of the great Welsh summer and I was a little closer to home - 10 minutes down the road to be precise. It was Mari & Dafydd's turn for their special day, which felt like it came around SO quickly! We're in Mari's home village of Llanystumdwy and on her parents farm for one of the most picturesque weddings of the season for me.

Picture this: a farm which covers acres and acres across the beautiful North Wales coastline with views of castles and the Snowdonia mountains in the distance, a HUGE marquee and an army of guests who were up for the party!

Spending the morning at Mari's family farm was pretty special. Preparations were going on in the middle of the farmhouse kitchen (near the prosecco), whilst her dress was hung up in her childhood bedroom - no place like home. It might have felt all familiar but Mari's friends and family had plenty of surprises for her ... just a classic wedding car for the day and some special presents.

The ceremony was a the beautiful medieval house Penarth Fawr, which is one of the most perfect of wedding venues, with exposed beams and beautiful lighting. A small selection of Mari & Dafydd's friends and family were lucky enough to witness the most intimate of ceremonies and we're even treated to some traditional Welsh songs, sung by Dafydd's sisters. Emotional doesn't even cut it.

A few clumps of confetti later and we were on the way to the beach for a stroll in the famous Welsh rain - I'm not convinced Mari appreciated it with fresh hair & make up but I just adore the photos of them. Atmospheric.

Whilst we were enjoying the rain ... The rest of the guests were already getting the party started at the marquee, which was decorated with hay bails, sofas, long dining tables with the odd dash of greenery. Mari & Dafydd were given a HUGE welcome and this is when I knew that the party was going to be epic. An ambulance break (don't ask) later and we were ready for the dance floor - Full of dance moves, lazers, smoke machines and the odd flying pint of lager (plastic, of course).

Full of fun, laughter, tears and alcohol. A day to remember.
